Project contribution
RECIF Technologies is primarily involved in Work Package 4 (WP4): Technology solutions for CFET & Sustainable Process Technology, specifically contributing to hardware developments under Task 4.1. Key Contributions and Activities: • Smart Sorter Development: RECIF’s main objective is to design and deliver an intelligent, fully operational wafer sorting machine integrating a compact wafer edge inspection module. • Multi-Substrate Handling: The tool is uniquely designed to handle the diverse, complex substrates (varying materials and thicknesses) required for the 14 Angstrom (14A) node within an ISO class 1 cleanliness mini-environment. • In-Line Defect Inspection/Metrology: Building on handling and inspection technologies from previous EU projects (IT2, ID2PPAC), the sorter will enable automated, in-line detection/measurement of early-stage anomalies such as chippings, scratches, micro-cracks, but also thickness variations. It will automatically communicate the data to the host for root-cause analysis and yield improvement. • Prototype Evaluation: RECIF will deploy this prototype at imec’s 300mm pilot line, where it will be characterized and evaluated on advanced 14A mCFET technologies.
